What You Need To Know - Traveler Mobile Numbers
Technology drives business travel forward. We've said it many times before and we will continue to say it. And in the last decade, smartphone usage and integration within business travel has risen at an incredible rate.
In a 2016 survey conducted by Pew Research, "Roughly three-quarters of Americans (77%) now own a smartphone".
Smartphones have changed the Business Travel landscape and many travel managers are beginning to implement mobile strategies. The biggest benefit of having cell phones is that information is now practically instantaneous. In the corporate world, it's a duty of care priority for all corporations across the globe to have that connectivity with their travelers. It is now possible to be in constant contact in case there's an event that may lead to accountability or just general information. With younger generations entering the industry, smartphones will continue to play a larger role in business travel.
In a webinar hosted by TAMS (Travel and Meeting Society), Grasp Technologies Founder, President and CEO, Erik Mueller joins in on a conversation about the value of traveler mobile numbers and how to improve the percentage of traveler profiles that include them.
During this conversation, Erik offers his insight from a data perspective for improving the consistency of mobile numbers and traveler profiles.
"There's a number of profile sync tools out there that puts the control of managing those things in the hands of the corporation and even in the travelers for maintaining that data. That usually greatly improves data quality because it's got built-in checks and cleaning routines that are going to help improve data quality and consistency."
